CRAIG SPEED, Managing Partner 

Craig is a founding partner of ScaleWerks Holdings.  Craig leads the origination and development of executive relationships at ScaleWerks Holdings and assists in the overall management of the firm, including the development of investment theses, the origination of new investment opportunities, deal structuring, negotiations, transaction execution, and co-leads portfolio management.

Equally adept at exceeding business challenges during periods of economic constraint or rapid expansion, he is particularly skilled at achieving operational excellence within culturally diverse environments and translating conceptual models into specific growth strategies that improve revenues, profitability, customer equity, and corporate valuations.

 

Craig was the Founding Partner and CEO of the private equity firm Deerpath Holdings; Craig served as the CEO of several manufacturing organizations, including two Top 100 US Window Manufacturers.

He has consulted to a breadth of Fortune 1000 organizations, including Colgate-Palmolive, GE, Citibank, Bristol Myers Squibb, The Coca-Cola Company, Kohl’s, Best Buy, The Hershey Company, Johnson Controls, and worked within the portfolio companies of some of the top private equity firms, such as The Carlyle Group, The Blackstone Group; Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts & Company; Providence Equity Partners; Texas Pacific Group; Goldman Sachs; Silver Lake Partners; Welch, Carson, Anderson and Stowe; and Bain & Company.

Prior to Deerpath Holdings, Craig served as President & CEO of several manufacturing businesses and a global human capital/strategy consulting firm. He has led the Private Equity consulting practice at a leading operations consulting firm, was Vice President of Sales and Business Development for a Fortune 500 IT and services industry leader, as well as Vice President of Midwest for Reuters/Bridge Information Systems. He began his career with Lehman Brothers in New York City after graduating from Columbia University.

His publications include Future Challenges Over Leadership & Talent, an article based on his presentation for the Global Summit of the Society of Chemical Industry and Sustainability – “It’s Adapt or Die in this Brave New World”, an article focusing on value creation through sustainability – “Is Your Business Derailed?”, an article that focusses on achieving right product, right time and right place performance at the lowest total landed cost. Among his numerous professional commitments, Craig is a Founding Member of the KD Global Talent Development Board at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, and a former member of the Global Business Policy Council at A.T. Kearney.
